Eleven and a Half Minutes

I sometimes wish I had an extra day all to myself. Every other person on earth would freeze, and I could spend 24 hours getting caught up, responding to the back-logged emails, finish re-editing my demo reel, and probably take a nap or two. Think of all the things you could get done! I’d be unstoppable…
Now what if I had an extra 24 hours every quarter?!? I’d probably be famous by now. So what sort of miracle would it take to get that…? Turns out all it takes is eleven and a half minutes per day.
That’s right. If you spend 11.61 minutes per day, that’s 1440 minutes (24 hours) per 124-day quarter. And we’re talking a full 24-hour day, not one of those sissy 18-hour work days. Four whole extra days per year. That’s amazing.
Now here’s the kicker. Someone reading this blog is spending an extra 2 hours on their career every day (at least). That’s an extra 24 hours every 12 days. That’s effectively an extra month of the year. Damn. Talk about an edge.
Now back to work. Eleven and a half minutes at a time…
